Patient Shield Concepts (PSC), LLC is a company dedicated to developing products in the interest of eliminating cross-contamination in surgical and other critical care settings. The company was founded by Lynn White, M.D., CEO and President of PSC. She is a practicing anesthesiologist and former pediatric emergency medicine physician. Stanley Rosen, M.D., Vice President and cofounder of PSC has over thirty years of experience in internal medicine with a focus on preventative medicine and critical care administration.

As physicians who have practiced medicine in critical care settings for many years, the cofounders have witnessed many lapses in the protection of patients from potential disease transmission. In an era of ever-increasing drug resistance by virulent organisms, increased vigilance on the part of care providers is essential. This is especially true in critical care settings, where patients are most vulnerable. This includes surgery, where anesthetized patients are subject to transmission of infection by contaminated objects or surfaces.

It is clear that effective preventative techniques can and should be employed on behalf of the patient's safety. It is our responsibility and our challenge to continually improve the quality of our techniques with regard to prevention of disease transmission.
